In two days the “Athens Equestrian Festival 2024” begins!

The Athens Equestrian Festival 2024 starts on Thursday, May 30, the leading international show jumping event in Greece that will last until Sunday, June 2 at the Olympic Equestrian Center in Markopoulo. Already the first horses have started to enter the stables, since tomorrow Wednesday the first vet inspection will take place at 17.00.

120 athletes and 150 horses from 11 countries, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus, Hungary, Sweden, Italy, Turkey, Ukraine, Brazil and Saudi Arabia will compete for the 180,000 euros that will be shared in the 21 events of the four days.

The Athens Equestrian Festival 2024 comprises four events, the Longines EEF Series Athens CSIO3 *-W a CSICh, a CSI1* CSIYH .

The Longines EEF Series Nations Cup team competition is on Sunday, June 2 at 4 p.m., which is a qualifier for the southern region of the 2024 Longines EEF Series. The teams from five countries, Greece, Italy, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Romania will compete in the Athens Nations Cup Competition, accumulating points and aiming to qualify for the Grand Final in Warsaw, Poland in September. The Grand Prix competition will be held on Friday, May 31st at 17.00.

Greece in the Longines EEF Series Athens CSIO3 *-W World Cup will take part with 11 athletes, among them Angelos Touloupis, 22nd in the World Cup Final, with two horses, Kannandillo and Delrey of the Lowlands, the 2022 Seniors Champion Ilias Baliousis with Capser d’Argouges, Balkan Champion 2023 Alexandros Fourlis with Idefix del Laghetto, Kate Laskaridis with two horses, Catoki’s Cornet and Hilada, Balkan Champion 2023 with Team Dimitris Natsis with Cresco and also the Balkan Champion with Team 2023 Kritonas Zafeiropoulos with Dicaprio.

The program will be in the morning and afternoon, starting at 8.30 and ending on all four days after 18.00.

Entry is free for public, while all events will be broadcasted in live streaming from the online platform https://www.clipmyhorse.tv/en_EU/  through the event site https://athenscsi.gr/en/live- streaming  

ERT, the Nationsl TV, through ERTFLIX, will broadcast live the Team competition on Sunday, June 2 at; 16.00.

Also, as part of the Athens Equestrian Festival 2024, other events for young and old fans of the sport are held alongside the races. Such as an art exhibition by Dafni Votanopoulou, as well as educational horses for equestrian rides, for the children.
